Greetings to all the Performance Program Students and Family Members! 

As we prepare to end our school year 2015, we are also in the process of searching for a new set of AIMBA Officers who will carry on the legacy and the responsibility to ensure that our programs will continue to be supported and promoted moving forward.  

We have 7 positions/roles that will end its term in June 2015.  These positions have been led by dedicated parents who have volunteered their time and effort to help establish our non-profit organization (AIMBA) to where it is now.  We believe that it is time for a change and to recruit new, energetic parents to fill in the roles.  This is going to give us ample time from now until the beginning of the school year in September to properly transition the roles and prepare for the exciting year ahead.   As soon as we have the new set of AIMBA Officers to assume their positions, we will continue to search for qualified members of the Board who will provide mission based leadership and strategic governance to our non-profit organization.  

As a member of the Performance Program, you are given the opportunity to nominate viable candidates to assume the new open positions.  The following positions are open for nomination:

President - (currently held by Cindy Hapin) -  The President shall be elected by the general membership.  He or she shall be the chief executive officer the organization and shall, subject to the control of the Board, have general supervision, direction and control of the affairs and officers of the organization.  He or she shall preside over all the meetings of the Officers and shall have the general poser and duties of management usually vested in the office of the president of an organization together with such powers and duties as may be prescribed by the Board of these ByLaws.  The President's term shall end on August 31st of the next even year.  
(The President's term begins in September 1st, 2015 and ends August 31st, 2018)

Vice President - (currently held by Trudy Mar) -  In the absence or disability of the President, the Vice President shall perform all the duties of the president and when so acting shall have all powers of and be subject to all the restrictions upon the president. He or she shall have such powers and perform such other duties as may be prescribed by the Board or the AIMBA ByLaws. The Vice President's term shall end on August 31st of the next odd year.
(The Vice President's term begins in September 1st, 2015 and ends August 31st, 2017)

Secretary - (currently held by Catherine Fuerte) - The Secretary shall keep or cause to be kept at the principal office or such other place that the Officers may order, a book of minutes of all meetings, with the time and place of holding same, whether regular or special, the names of attendees, and the proceedings thereof. The secretary shall give, or cause to be given, notice of all meetings, and shall keep the books, records and documents of the Organization in safe custody, and shall have other such powers and perform other duties as may be prescribed by the Board or the ByLaws. The Secretary's term shall end on August 31st of the next odd year.

Treasurer - (currently held by Sonia David) - The Treasurer shall be elected by the general membership.  He/She shall keep and maintain, or cause to be kept, and maintain adequate and correct accounts of the properties and business transactions of the organization, including accounts of its assets, liabilities, receipts, disbursements, gains, losses, capital, retained earnings, and other matters customarily included in financial statements.  The treasurer shall deposit all monies and other valuables in the name and to the credit of the organization with such depositories as may be designated by the Officers, with approval by the Board.  He or she shall disburse the funds of the organization as may be ordered by the Officers, based on the approved budget, shall render to the president and its directors whenever requested, an account of all transactions as treasurer and of the financial condition of the organization and shall have such other powers and perform such other duties as may be prescribed by the Board or these ByLaws.  The Treasurer's term shall end on August 31st of the next even year.

Public Relations Officer (currently held by Samantha Martinez) - The PR officer shall be responsible for maintaining the public image of AIMBA, including media relations and community issues. His or her goal is to advocate AIMBA to the general public, specifically the local community. He or she supports the operations to improve the cost effectiveness and business development of the organization. The Public Relations Officer's term shall end on August 31st of the next odd year.
(The Public Relations Officer's term begins in September 1st, 2015 and ends August 31st, 2017) 

Parent Liaison (currently held by Leonora Pineda) - The Parent Liaison shall be elected by he general membership.  The Parent Liaison is responsible for providing information to the parents of the Performance Program students, who may not all be members of the organization.  He or she supports the community outreach activities as well as fundraising activities.  The Parent Liaison's term shall end on August 31st of his/her even year.
(The Parent Liaison's term begins in September 1st, 2015 and ends August 31st, 2018) 

Parliamentarian (currently held by Allyson Tintianco-Cubales) - The Parliamentarian is an expert in rules of order and the proper procedures.  He/She also acts as the Board's "adviser", assist in the drafting and interpretation of ByLaws and rules of order, and the planning and conduct of meetings.  The Parliamentarian's term shall end on August 31st of the next odd year.

The election site will be open starting  May 10  through May 22.

Only Performance Program members can nominate; self-nominations are not allowed.

Officer nominees endorsement period by current Board members: no limit on number of nominees a board member can endorse

Board of Directors Meeting to review and tally nomination and endorsement results.

Election of new Officers (current Directors vote on new Directors to fill open seats being vacated by outgoing Directors).

Final results of new AIMBA Officers election announced (during Parent Meeting or via email notification)

I encourage everyone to take part in this effort.  The goal is to have at least one representive from each Performance Program who will assume a position and be the voice of the program.  We need passionate parents who can bring in new ideas, have the network, and who can willingly put in their time and effort to run and support our non-profit organization.  We are available for questions and/or if you want to meet to discuss further, please don't hesitate to reach out to any of us!
